PRELUDE “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever”
WELCOME
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Today, on this First Sunday in Lent, the journey to the foot of the Cross begins. Are you ready?
There is so much to worry with, so much uncertainty, pain, and suffering. How can I ready myself?
Let go of those things THAT chain you to despair and past regrets.
Lord, help me look and see the ways in which I have been unfaithful toward you and your priorities in this world.
Come, let us worship and feel the power of freedom and unconditional love that only God, our Bridegroom, can offer.
Open our hearts now to receive you, O Lord.

*Affirmation of our Faith – The Apostles’ Creed (below)
I believe in God, the Father almighty
Maker of Heaven and Earth
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
Born of the Virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried
He descended into hades
The third day he rose again from the dead
He ascended into Heaven
And sitteth on the right hand of God
the Father Almighty
From thence he shall come
to judge the quick and the dead
I believe in the Holy Spirit
The holy Christian Church
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting. Amen.
