BE DARING: PUT YOUR FAITH WHERE THE ACTION IS
(Based on The Book of Acts, Chapters 13-28)

Facilitated by: Team of Volunteers

Do you ever feel like you’re making little difference in this world, merely on the practice squad, warming the bench on Sundays and throughout your week? Jesus says, “Go and make disciples!” “Feed my sheep!” How is that going for you? This fall, dare to travel through dungeon prisons, see the ancient world as if it were today, and witness the marvelous work God can do in this world through a few souls empowered by the Holy Spirt and fully surrendered to His purposes and priorities in this world. Participants will witness Paul’s conversion and spot his imperfections, yet still enter his successes as the Lord uses Paul to share and preach Good News to the lost and dying in his world.

“For in him we live and move and have our being.”  – Acts 17:28

There is a Men’s Bible Study at the Church each Monday evening at 7:00 PM or on Tuesday morning at 8:00 AM!

Do you know God parted the waters for His people a second time?

We will journey together through God’s “second parting,” the parting of the Jordan River, found in the opening chapters of the Book of Joshua. Here, participants will discover that the same God who leads them through and beyond troubled waters, is the same God who leads them forward.

On this crossing, the group again will continue to lean into God’s Word, particularly the first six chapters in The Book of Joshua, along with Robert Morgan’s sequel, The Jordan River RulesDiscovering Along the Way 10 God-given Strategies for Moving Forward.

Men may choose to join in on either Monday evenings or Tuesday mornings…

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. – Proverbs 27:17

“Women’s Bible Study” meets on Tuesday Evenings 7:00-8:30, or Wednesday mornings 10:30-12:00 am at the church.

An 8-week Women’s Bible study will begin, starting Tuesday evening, September 10, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Wednesday, September 11, from 10:30 AM to Noon. The study is Lifestyle Priorities: Living with Purpose in a Fast-Paced World by John White. Both the evening and the morning study groups will meet downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. Class sessions will be led by Renée Magnuson, with Joyce Barre and other women of Pleasant Community Church assisting. Please let either Beatrice, in the church office, or Renée, know if you plan to participate, and the class you’ll attend most often — evening or morning — so that we will know how many chairs and tables will be needed. The books are in! You may pick up a copy in the church office or at the first evening or morning class session, September 10 or September 11.

Please invite ladies you know who don’t attend worship at PCC to come with you to a class. These studies are a great way to become more familiar with Scripture, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. You are never obligated to speak, but the hope is that every participant will join in for the group discussions.

Description: Living as a Christian in today’s fast-paced world involves endless lifestyle decisions. What does it mean to live distinctively? How can we have good self-esteem and still cultivate Christlike humility? Are some sins worse than others? How should we view the pursuit of material things? These eight Bible studies, along with thought-provoking insights from best-selling author John White, will provide a biblical basis for living with Christian priorities.
