One of the church’s core values is “Being Children and Youth Oriented” meaning we try to be intentional about including children and youth in the life of the church. They can function as greeters, ushers, sing with the choir, etc.
Children’s ministry at PCC consists of nursery for infants through kindergarten ages during Sunday School and the worship service. Only screened volunteers with clear background clearances are allowed to volunteer in any children’s area.
During Sunday School, a combined-age class is offered: 1st-6th grade.
JUSTICE JOURNEY FOR KIDS:
Living Into Life-Giving Patterns of Diversity, Community, and Love
Facilitated by: Nancy Swanson, Dawn Swanson, and Jodi Swanson.
We live in a crazy world with so much confusion, injustice, and hate. How can we best prepare our children and grandchildren, instill in them a sure foundation that can address and endure the challenges and complexities we face today and they will surely face tomorrow? Teaming up with our faith partners in The Evangelical Covenant Church, we begin a Justice Journey together, recognizing that our children are fully a part of the body of Christ, empowered to bear and carry out Christ’s image and priorities in this world. Our first module will be, “Celebrating God’s Diverse Creation,” followed by “God of Justice” (Module 2) and “Identity with God and Each Other” (Module 3). “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah
A “Children’s Moment” is part of the worship service.
Children in 1st grade and up are kept in the worship service during the sermon in order to help prepare them for being part of worship as they become adults.
Vacation Bible School occurs in June once school has ended.
This is a week-long ministry to children through the 6th grade. We have been partnering with the local Warren Community VBS that rotates among member churches. This provides a greater number of children and volunteers providing a better experience for all involved! It also shows that the churches of Warren work together for the common good of all in our community!
